BREAKINGFORM is a three piece Rock and Roll band from Virginia. After recently producing their second full length original CD entitled "number two", the band has taken to the road once again. With tour support from Jagermeister, BREAKINGFORM plays up and down the east coast including such world renowned venues as CBGB's in New York City. The band has shared the stage with world-renowned artists: Def Leppard, Blue Oyster Cult, WASP, Dokken, Molly Hatchet and many others. By always "playing for the crowd" BREAKINGFORM has gained fan loyalty in a normally unheard of fashion. For a list of venues where BREAKINGFORM has performed click here.

Creating a solid rhythm section, Ray Shindledecker (bass, vocals) and Rick Leith (drums, vocals) perform as if one unit. With a soulful purpose and lightning fast licks Scott Habermann delivers on rhythm and lead guitars. "The fans are the real purpose we serve by being a band. As long as they go home happy when the evening ends. That's what counts!"

SCOTT HABERMANN
Born into a Navy family while stationed in Jacksonville Florida, Scott has spent the majority of his life living a nomad's existence moving every year and a half to a new town or country. Although his geographic location has changed many times, one thing that has remained constant is his love of music. Scott recently returned to Virginia after spending some time in his home state of Florida, and landed the guitar spot in BREAKINGFORM!

Scott received his first acoustic guitar as a gift when he was in the 3rd grade. Not too excited about playing songs like "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore…" he soon lost interest and turned his attention to making louder noises through playing the drums. After a few years of banging the drums, Scott rediscovered the guitar when he received an electrified version for Christmas while living in the Philippines. KISS was king at the time, and everyone wanted to be a rock star.

While still in high school, Scott formed his first band with his sister on vocals and set his sights on becoming a professional guitarist. By playing in numerous original and cover bands in Virginia and Florida, Scott has developed a hot modern guitar style. His influences include guitarists such as Randy Rhodes, Zakk Wylde, and George Lynch along with bands such as Metallica, Scorpions, and KISS (of course!)

Currently touring with BREAKINGFORM Scott says - "It is awesome to be touring with a great band in support of the CD Holding Up the Gravity. I love playing live, traveling to new places and meeting new fans! I am also stoked on my endorsements from Jackson Guitars,Gibson Guitars, GHS Strings, Marshall Amplifiers, Rocktron, & Seymour Duncan!"

Scott's current road gear includes: Jackson Custom Shop RR1T, Jackson Custom Shop King V, Gibson Les Paul Classic, Marshall EL 34 50/50 power amp, Marshall cabinets, Line 6 Pod Pro, Rocktron Intellifex, Rocktron Hush IICX, Rocktron All Access Controller, Ernie Ball volume pedal, Seymour Duncan pickups, KORG rack tuner, Dunlop Dime wah pedal, Furman power conditioner, Shure SM-57, GHS Strings, Dunlop guitar picks, Anvil road cases, Bottle of Chilled Jagermeister.

RICK LEITH
Although the violin was Rick's first instrument, after two years he decided that it just wasn't loud enough. He took up drums at the age of thirteen. With the help of a friend that had been playing for a few years, he picked up the basic 4-4 beat and developed his style from there. In and out of different bands from age fifteen to 23, he drew influence from the likes of Lars, Van Halen, Shannon Larkin, Stewart Copeland, Dave Lombardo, John Bonham, Tommy Lee, Neil Peart, and Dave Holland. After teaching percussion for a few years, his first steady gig came in 1993 when he joined the Northern Virginia heavy alternative band "NO SaNER". Upon the release of their first full-length release "Ire", the band signed with DSI Records. After touring up and down the East Coast in support of two more albums, NO SaNER disbanded in 1998.

For the first time in six years, Rick took a good look around the DC area music scene. The band that was making all the right moves was "BREAKINGFORM". They were just what he was looking for…. an original modern rock act with one set goal: to give the people a new reason for coming to shows again and again by providing them with a new definition of Rock and Roll, and a stage show that burns white hot with energy from start to finish. After sixteen years, Rick was finally home.

RAY SHINDLEDECKER
Ray has put over 20 years into playing music….starting off at about 13 years old and blowing up his first amp (2 watts and made of plastic!) playing "She's Got Balls" by AC/DC on an old Kay Les Paul copy…. Gradually moving up in equipment and skill through school, and then into the Army (ex-US Army Ranger…hence the nickname "Sarge") Ray eventually learned the ropes of songwriting by using a broken boombox and a secondary recorder to lay down multiple guitar tracks. A guitarist by trade, with experience fronting blues and rock acts on both guitar and bass, Sarge put over 40 original songs under his belt. He even managed to get some college radio play on one of his first tunes released after he graduated recording engineering school where he learned the ropes of laying tracks on 2" tape…experience that paid off with BreakingForm.

In late '97, after working with several different bands, he answered an ad in a local music paper….and landed an audition with BreakingForm. "I knew they had something as I listened to them outside of the place they were practicing. They were playing through an early version of "Older Folks"….and the bass line just popped into my head. I ran up and told them not to change a thing, grabbed my gear, and we laid down the tune….I've been with BreakingForm ever since."—Ray.

For now, when he's not on stage…you can catch the Sarge at home working on new tunes in his studio…or spending time with his black lab, Butch.
