The Hindu Cowboys may hail from Central Florida, but the band's origins extend from Nashville to the Canadian border and overseas to Bulgaria. .
Each member brings a flavor of their regional music culture and influences to complete the foundation of the group's music

The sound is a mix of folk, traditional string band, and roots music topped off with retro country gravy. Formed in 1998, the band's present line up includes Craig Roy on upright bass, backing vocals, and accordion, George Dimitrov on lead guitar and backing vocals, Joseph Martens on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, and Marc Lewis on drums.
1999 was highlighted by their debut, critically acclaimed, self titled CD release which featured vocal accompaniment by Terri Binion. The year also passed with the honored recognition of the 1999 Orlando Music Award for best Country/Bluegrass artist, and winner of the WildHorse Saloon's Road To Nashville for the best country artist in Central Florida. The year also included week long showcases for the band at the WildHorse Saloon in Orlando and Nashville.

In the past two years Hindu Cowboys have expanded their territory of exposure by being featured regularly on many domestic and overseas radio shows including WTKS and WWRR in Orlando, Flordia; KUCI 88.9, Irvine, California (top 10); Eddie Russell's Country Eastern West of Columbus, Texas; Gerd Stassen's "Hillbilly Rockhouse" show on radio "Ems-Vechte-Welle" in Germany; KZMU Moab, Utah; Jean Castro's Frequence Verte in Marmoutier, France; Lord Litter's web based Radio Marabu; Jacques Spiry's Country Unlimited and Lone Star Music on the RCF network broadcasting throughout France and Belgium; and Elton Houck's Texas Twister internet radio show. They also received the honor again this past year of being named best Country/Bluegrass artist in the 2000 Orlando Music Awards.

In addition to radio and internet, Hindu Cowboys have been featured around Florida in many of the area's festivals like the Mount Dora Arts Festival, Wings & Strings Americana Music Festival, and Albino Skunk Bluegrass Festival; and premiere venue like The Sapphire, Kit Kat Club, House Of Blues, Skipper's Smokehouse, Virgin Mega Store, Flora-Bama Lounge, and The Wild Horse Saloon. Their sound and live performance have earned them billings to perform on the WARPED Tour 2000, as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Donna The Buffalo, Dale Watson, Peter Rowan, Brad Paisley, Marty Stuart, Hank Williams III, The Road Kings, and The V-Roys among others
